Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, tiered framework for supporting students’ behavioral, academic, social, emotional, and mental health. PBIS improves social-emotional competence, academic success, and school climate and is a way to create positive, predictable, equitable and safe learning environments where everyone thrives.

PBIS is a framework for creating safe, positive, equitable schools where every student can feel valued, connected to the school community, and supported by caring adults.  Both Corning Elementary students and educators benefit through school-wide positive behavior interventions and support.

  • Reduces racial inequities in discipline through aligned school-wide expectations and values.
  • Makes all other school practices better by using PBIS evidence-based practices and commitment to ongoing improvement.
