- Complete the online enrollment using the "enroll Here" button on this page prior to February 6, 2024, In-Person Event.
- Create an Aeries Parent Portal Login. Check your email used to verify your login and to be able to continue the enrollment process.
- Be sure to select the 2024-25 school year.
- If you are requesting that your child attend another CUESD school, select School of Choice in the enrollment process. (All School of Choice (Intradistrict Requests) will be reviewed during May and June.
Contact the resident school office should you encounter any issues during the enrollment process.

What is the February 6, 2024 In-Person Event?
The in-person event is held for parents and children to complete the verification and assessment process of enrollment. This year's event will be on February 6, 2024, between 8:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at the CUESD District Office, 1005 Hoag Street
We encourage parents to complete the online portion of enrollment prior to attending the in-person event to streamline their time.
Parents need to bring with them:
- Child's birth certificate
- Child's shot records
- Proof of Address (see verification process below for examples)
- Your Student!
Children will have the opportunity on that day to meet teachers, learn about their school, and get a backpack filled with goodies and a book!

WHAT IS UNIVERSAL TRANSITIONAL KINDERGARTEN
Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK) serves as a bridge between preschool and kindergarten, giving children more time for hands‐on, interactive learning that provides children with the gift of time to learn skills that will help them build a strong foundation for success.
Children enrolled in UTK have the opportunity to spend time learning important social and emotional skills, adjust to the school environment & develop strong learning skills that will help them succeed in kindergarten and beyond.
Who Is Age-Eligible for Universal Transitional Kindergarten (UTK)
- In 2023–24, children are eligible for TK if they turn 5 between September 2 and April 2*,
- In 2024–25, children are eligible for TK if they turn 5 between September 2 and June 2*,
- In 2025–26, LEAs are required to make TK available to all children who will have their fourth birthday by September 1* of the school year.

Q. When is UTK and Kindergarten registration?
A. Online Registration for the next school year will open on January 115, 2024
Q. How do I enroll my child online?
A. Click the "Enroll Here" button above. Create an Aeries Parent Portal. Confirm your account via email message, then log back into your Aeries Parent Portal to complete the registration process.
Q. What is the eligibility period for 24/25 Kindergarten
A. Child must turn 5 on or before September 1, 2024.

A. Child must turn 5 between September 2, 2024 and June 2, 2025
Q. When will my child be assessed for school?
A. children will be assessed by their teacher after the start of the school year.

Once you have completed the online registration process, take the following documents to your student's residence school office for verification.
- Certified copy of a Birth Certificate, Passport, or duly attested Baptismal Certificate, Parent/Guardian Affidavit (when other means are not available)
- Immunization record
- Evidence of Residency – Property Tax Payment receipts; rental property contract, lease, or payment receipts; Pay stubs, Utility service contract, statement, or payment receipts; Voter registration; correspondence from a government agency; declaration of residency executed by parent/guardian; or an affidavit by a caregiving adult (Family Code 6552)

Your student must have the following immunizations BEFORE the FIRST day of school:

Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis (DTaP, DTP, Tdap, or Td) — 5 doses
(4 doses OK if one was given on or after 4th birthday. 3 doses OK if one was given on or after 7th birthday.)
For 7th-12th graders, at least 1 dose of pertussis-containing vaccine is required on or after 7th birthday. -
Polio (OPV or IPV) — 4 doses
(3 doses OK if one was given on or after 4th birthday) -
Hepatitis B — 3 doses
(not required for 7th grade entry) -
Measles, Mumps, and Rubella (MMR) — 2 doses
(Both given on or after 1st birthday) -
Varicella (Chickenpox) — 2 doses

Your student will need a Physical Exam as early as 6 months before kindergarten or within 90 days after they start of first grade.
To schedule a physical exam:
- call your family doctor to make an appointment
- low cost immunizations are available from Public Health
- free exams and immunizations are available for children who qualify by income or have Medi-Cal
