Current School Year
Intradistrict transfers requests for the current school year may take up to 2 weeks to review and are reviewed and processed by the District Office based on grade/class sizes. Schools within our district may be impacted due to late enrollments and/or class sizes. All students should remain in their existing placement until confirmation of approved request has been made.
Next School Year
In order to ensure that priorities for enrollment in district schools are implemented in accordance with law and Board policy, Intradistrict Transfer Requests shall be submitted between April 1 - April 30 of the school year preceding the school year for which the transfer is requested. Requests received after April 30 will be placed on a waiting list.
Final decisions will be made as soon as all enrollment priorities have been applied.
NOTE:
- No student currently residing within a school's attendance area shall be displaced by an intradistrict transfer student. (EC 35160.5)
- Intradistrict Transfer Requests are approved for five years. Unless approved for a one-year period based on special circumstances.
- Parents/legal guardians who submit applications will be considered based on available space (class/grade level) and date of application. (First come, first serve basis). If no space is available, the student is placed on a waiting list.
- Priority will be given to students based on the following criteria as long as space is available (class/grade level):
- Is a sibling of another student already attending that school
- Has a parent/guardian whose primary place of employment is that school
