WE TIP - PLEASE REPORT VANDELISM

WE TIP - PLEASE REPORT VANDELISM

CUESD understands that our local students, parents, and community members are vested in maintaining CUESD facilities.  Local individuals can also be helpful in preventing or identifying potential damage to our facilities caused by vandalism or theft.  CUESD uses the WE TIP program which can provide local law enforcement with important information through anonymous reporting.  For more information on WE TIP program click here.

CURRENT PROJECTS

WEST STREET MODERNIZATION PROJECT PHASE III
We are entering the final phase of modernization at West Street Elementary, which will bring much-needed updates to classrooms and administrative spaces:
  • Eight original classrooms will be upgraded with new wiring, flooring, lighting, and cabinetry.
  • Three portables will be converted into permanent stick-built classrooms.
  • The front administrative office will be remodeled to create a safer, more efficient space, accommodating the Counselor and Bilingual Liaison positions while modernizing the nurse’s station.

SOLAR
Our district is making significant progress toward becoming fully solar-powered, with completion expected by October 2025. Once finalized, our solar energy system will provide sustainable power for all CUESD schools, reducing costs and promoting environmental responsibility.
  • Woodson Elementary project is completed, featuring a covered parking lot and new EV chargers.
  • Rancho Tehama and Olive View solar shade structures are now completed.
  • Maywood has a large three-array shade structure undergoing final inverter adjustments before beginning the interconnectivity process.
  • West Street Elementary will have a roof-mounted solar system atop the new nine-classroom wing. This project started mid-April.
We are excited about this transition to renewable energy and its long-term benefits to our schools and community.

FENCING and CAMPUS SECURITY
Enhancing campus security remains a priority, and we are continuing the fencing upgrades that began last year at West Street and Maywood.
  • Woodson Elementary is approximately 80% complete.
  • Work will begin soon at Olive View and Rancho Tehama.
The new 7-foot decorative black wrought iron fencing will limit campus access to a single point of entry through the main office, providing a safer and more secure environment for students and staff.

Funding for the Fencing and Campus Security Project is through a $2.2 million Bipartisan Safer Communities Act Grant.

Investing in Safe, Modern Learning Environments

Investing in Safe, Modern Learning Environments

At the April 9, 2025, Board Meeting, our Board of Trustees provided direction to District Staff to move forward on two major facility projects that will provide safe, enhanced student learning environments and strengthen our campuses.
  • A new multipurpose room and two classrooms at Rancho Tehama Elementary – This project was met with overwhelming enthusiasm during our March Town Hall meeting, where families, staff, and community members came together to ask thoughtful questions, share valuable suggestions, and express their excitement for what’s ahead. The new multipurpose space will serve as a hub for student meals, assemblies, enrichment programs, and community use, while the additional classrooms will support growing instructional needs.
  • A new CDS modular building and an expanded parking area – This will create a more accessible, functional, and safe space to support students enrolled in our Community Day School program.

General Obligation Bond - Measure J

General Obligation Bond - Measure J

Our elementary schools are some of the most important assets in our community and should be our number one priority. From higher-achieving students to greater neighborhood safety and improved property values, quality schools make a difference.  Although it appears that our local schools are in good shape based on the achievements of our students, our classrooms and school facilities need significant repairs and improvements.  Read More HERE about the General Obligation Bond Measure passed on the November 5 ballot.
