HEALTHY CHANGES IN OUR SCHOOL CAFETERIAS!
CUESD school cafeterias ensure that meals served to students are healthy and well-balanced and provide students with all the nutrition they need to succeed at school.
School meals offer students milk, fruits and vegetables, proteins, and grains and must meet strict limits on saturated fat and portion size. Our school meals will surpass state standards requiring:
Age-appropriate calorie limits
Larger servings of vegetables and fruits (students must take at least one serving of produce)
A wider variety of vegetables, including dark green and red/orange vegetables and legumes
Fat-free or 1% milk (flavored milk must be fat-free)
More whole grains
And less sodium
We offer locally grown fruit (when available) and strive to provide CUESD students with healthier and tastier choices.

NOTE: Food service will no longer be providing an alternate component for children with food allergies or intolerances.
Menu substitutions will only be provided for children with a disability as defined under section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act with a signed statement from a licensed physician stating that the allergy may result in a severe, life-threatening (anaphylactic) reaction. The doctor's statement must also include substitutions.
